Ride With Gladys is a self-directed rolling challenge named after Frances Willard’s beloved bicycle, which she named Gladys because it made her glad!

Ride With Gladys celebrates a new mural by CJ Hungerman, inspired by Frances Willard’s experience of learning to ride a bicycle in 1895 at the age of 53. The mural will be installed and unveiled on the RCHS campus September 26-27.

Throughout September, people of all ages are invited to get rolling, choose their own route, move at their own pace, and notice something they might otherwise have missed. Use your bike, trike, skates, scooter, wheelchair, or favorite set of wheels and make the adventure your own. However you roll, the goal is simple: get outside, explore, have fun, and see your community from a new perspective.

After their ride, participants can return to the website to tell Gladys what they discovered, then visit RCHS Visitors Center during regular hours or join us Sunday September 27 to collect their commemorative sticker.
