RCHS Special Projects
Special projects are directly tied to completing a physical improvement to one of our historic sites, our landscape or our campus in general. In executing these projects, we seek to make the campus environment and experiences educational, entertaining and fun, with authenticity in mind.
Our Strategic Plan and Campus Master Plan both serve as a blueprint for determining the priority and timeline for completion of each project annually. Within each year, the Society aims to raise support and begin construction on each project as it transforms the campus.
View our Campus Master Plan brochure to introduce yourself, or become a member to see the entire plan in detail.
To support any of these projects or inquire further, please contact Tim Maahs, Executive Director, at (608) 756-4509, ext. 301.
Light The Way
Bring light back to the Lincoln-Tallman House! Help the Society restore its gas fixtures that will recreate authentic, 19th century lighting that will allow tours, rentals and events to have a historic shine. Individual fixtures, rooms or even a whole floor of the Lincoln-Tallman House can be sponsored.
Frances Willard Schoolhouse
Help the Society relocate the 1857 one-room schoolhouse back to our campus to provide a comprehensive educational slate of programs that joins Tallman Tours and Schoolhouse experiences together! Complete with an outhouse, flagpole and educational yard, the Schoolhouse will become an even more integral part of the campus experience and will be able to be cared for daily.
The Core
Designed as the “Heart of the Campus”, the Core is the primary orientation space for visitors arriving to campus. Here they will discover why this venue with its historic sites and landscape is so unique. Visitors can learn where other museums and historic sites in Rock County are located. The Core will be the perfect venue to welcome school groups, rental clients and the general public.
