Product Description

On the far left is the southeast corner of Main & Milwaukee where Johnson Bank is located today. The Myers Hotel was built there in 1859-61 by Peter Myers. The hotel had 100 rooms and cost $60,000 to build.

The Milner Hotel Company of Detroit took over the hotel in 1945. It was torn down in 1958 and replaced by Rock County Bank, now Johnson Bank.

Just west of the Milner is a corner of the Lappin-Hayes Block. Looking deep into the photo you can see all the way to 325 W Milwaukee where the sign for the Hotel Monterey can be seen. Circa 1955
